Happy New Year!
Last year I started a few things, I enrolled in an online study to become a certified aromatherapist. I was hoping to have finished it by now but life happens, so I start, I stop, I have a long study spell, and a short one. Kids can get sick, homeschooling, visitors, summer breaks and vacations. My goal for this year is to finish the certification program as well as the other herbal courses I’m taking.
I do love learning about the science behind the oils, how they work, and why. Learning about what makes certain constituents safe or unsafe for children, elderly, and the immune compromised. It is really a passion of mine to teach people to respect the oils and to not use them carelessly, especially now that they’ve gained in popularity.
I also started to make a few things, like body butters, lip balms and salves, breathing inhalers and some more. I enjoy making these and seeing if they work, and if people like them.
In December I started making chutneys, immunity syrups, baking, hot chocolate mix, vanilla extracts (since vanilla is soooo expensive now), Christmas gifts, like coloured lip balms, cologne, and some other stuff. We decorated the tree and the house, and tried to bake but our oven decided to stop working 😦
This time of year is a busy one, but still a nice one. I love the lights in the dark afternoon and evening, getting the decorations out, baking, spending time with family and friends, and celebrating the birthday of our saviour. Then we ended the year with a bang with some country and western, and karaoke lol.
January is here and were back to our normal “routine”. It’s nice to get back to some sort of normalcy, though I’m not really the kind of person that likes too much structure. I like to be flexible and adaptable to what God may want of me and my family. But we need to get stuff done so routine here we come. 🙂
I hope all of you will have a great and productive 2019, and achieve all of the goals you have set for yourself.
God Bless ❤
